WE HAVE MOVED!

"And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven,
saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

An Eagle’s Wings & The Winds of Adversity

An Eagle’s Wings & The Winds of Adversity

From the work, Fortress of the Soul"
The sound of the thunder and the sight of the lightning only means that Love drawest near....The rain to remind us that we are in the midst of Love's mercy...

Who could argue that an eagle was meant to fly?  For although an eagle has feet he was never meant to be grounded for long periods of time.  Nigh, no, he was meant for the skies.  He was meant to behold His beloved locking eye to Eye.  He was meant to contemplate those things which are above man.  Thus, he was gifted with these two wings of Faith and Hope to fly.  But an eagle could not fly if he first was not offered resistance (in the proper sense).  For love to be proven there must be an edge of the cliff experience.  Will I fall or shall I fly?  We choose to have Faith because how can God fail?  It should be easy, no?  But it is not due to self-love.  Nay, the Winds of Change or Winds of Adversity are necessary for anyone who seeks the Beloved.  Yea, it is only the Wind which can take him higher.  The Wind at first seems unkind to the beginner.  Yes, to those young and inexperienced the Wind seems to be the enemy at first but in reality it is an eagles best friend. And what if an eagle decides to keep his wings closed?

If an eagle decides to keep his wings closed he cannot embrace the Wind which seeks to change his way and elevate him.  The Wind is the only companion which can take him to a higher place.

These wings of Faith and Hope must remain open amidst all life’s storms for amidst the storm is the Creator thereof.  He is in the midst of the Great Storm like Jesus on the boat.

Nay, in fact He is the very Wind, therefore, what are you afraid of?

An Eagle who seeks to be One with the Son above must not fear that which can carry him unto His end.  And can there be an end without toil, tribulation, trial and the Cross?

Take notice for all other birds will flee to the mountains and the rabbits and foxes below have not the Faith to fly thus they remain grounded on the natural level.

Likewise, it is with these wings that He is taken to new heights far above the sea of reason below.

If an eagle should decide to close his wings this same very Wind will blow him over.  He would have chosen fear due to self-love and stayed grounded. He would perish like the rest who were never gifted with wings in the first place.

This is why the mighty men shall flee to the mountains and caves to hide in the end during God’s wrath.  They knowest not an eagles way.

The rabbits and foxes below make fun and talk about the eagles above yet they do not fly.  They speak of flight as if they know how to but in actuality do not.  They gossip, murmur and will read books on flight but remain grounded for they are afraid.

The greater the Storm the greater the Wind.  Yea, this calm before the storm is preparatory for all those who seek to transcend the natural.  The calm reminds us to fear not.  For the calm from without shall be had from within.

All we have to do is extend our arms and accept the Wind which shall support us for it is not by our own strength that we fly.  And what eagle can take to the skies without first leaping?  We must take the first step and meet God.  For, although God first chooses us it is still up to us to accept.

We must demonstrate to Him our faith.

We must show Him our wings spread and commend ourselves into His Hands just as Jesus gave us this divine blueprint on the Cross.

 Our great Eagle...

The Wind provides us opportunity.  The Wind takes us on this path of holiness.  It takes us above human nature.  From our vantage we can see those rabbits and foxes all gathering below.  And what does it matter that they should speak of us?

Due to self we can return to the ground and be like the others or press on.

Those who doubt while even in flight will begin to close their wings and free fall.

Yea, like Peter, we too, can sink beneath these “waters of self” and drown in our doubt if we do not trust.

For, although, the Storm may last a night God promises a new day which shall last forever.  Do not these Storms collectively guide us unto our End? The Storm only reminds us just how close the rainbow is...

The greater the suffering the greater the Love and the stronger the Wind gets the more we move closer to the Selfless Heart we seek.  Faith and Hope keeps us afloat.

It is with these wings that we shall move to a new time and place.  The Wind shall guide us in this transition from where we once were to the place that God has designed for us.

Would you, by way of self, resist this?

An eagle must likewise keep his eyes wide open in charity for in the end this is all that remains.

They say every time a bell rings an angel get his wings.  Yet an eagle will one day trade in his wings for His Heart alone and all that shall remain is His eyes of charity.

Love uses these wings as a means to an End.  And an eagle cannot arrive at his End without these wings nor can an eagle close them due to self if seeks the eternal prize.

Nay, in the end, an eagle can see clearly only when he has the Faith and Hope to embrace these Winds of Adversity.  Resistance to God’s Will is never good and the Wind of the Storm is an eagle’s path or way.

The sound of the thunder and the sight of the lightning only means that Love drawest near....the rain to remind us that we are in the midst of Love's mercy...

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

For as lightning cometh out of the east, and appeareth
even into the west: so shall the coming of the Son of man be.
[28] Wheresoever the body shall be, there shall the eagles also
be gathered together. (Mt 24:27-28)
